John Cook

Shirley Aquatics have been using, selling and installing The-Qube filtration system for the last two years. I will admit that when Tony Yellen the designer visited me and suggested that he could filter our well stocked 50,000 litre pond with an 80cm Qube the look I gave him was one of disbelief!

However after reviewing the information and seeing a demonstration video I decided to install one of the 800 Qubes. Within twenty four hours you could see the difference in water clarity. I ran this in conjunction with the existing filter system for six weeks and we decided to add another 800 Qube on the other bottom drain. At the same time we fitted a 400 Qube to the skimmer system and removed the original filters. Tony had said that one 800 unit would be sufficient, I explained to that when we have a shipment of handpicked quality koi we could be introducing anywhere up to 100 koi, up to 70cm in size.

Sure we introduced a shipment of 84 koi all over 16” and when taking readings there was no movement in the water quality, no difference in ammonia, nitrate or pH. And as everyone knows the most important ingredient in koi and fish keeping is water quality. The-Qube filtration systems certainly deliver both water Quality and clarity. As all of our satisfied customers agree!

Since then we have installed a further 14 Qubes at Shirley to cover the outside coldwater section, tropical and marine departments. In all with our sales and installations, including those in South Africa and Barbados we have sold over 120 units and we recommend The-Qube filtration system to all our customers for koi ponds or just garden ponds with goldfish and shubunkins. When we first started to install The-Qubes they were the filter of the future, now they are the filter of now; certainly the best available in the present market. The-Qubes give you cost savings due to smaller water and electricity bills as the pumps required to run them are smaller and also your maintenance times are significantly reduced – win win!
